Are you currently dating your former high school teacher?
No, I have never dated a former teacher of mine. However, I did at one time date a guy who had married his high school band teacher when he was about 20 and she was around 30. They had gotten involved when he was still in high school. This would have happened back in the late 1970s. They had two children but eventually got divorced--she had continued to work as a teacher, and eventually began an affair with the principal at her school.
I didn't date that guy very long. He was still very bitter towards his ex, in a not-over-it sort of way. It seemed to me, from what I could see, that their relationship started with a serious power imbalance, and that the husband, at least, struggled with that throughout the marriage and afterwards. I don't know if it was worse because he was, for that era, so much younger than his wife, which was very uncommon--but I think that was part of it. I think at that time, a more conventional younger woman-older man pairing would have had a better chance of succeeding. And I think her greater educational and career attainment only magnified that problem.
Of course I am. Are you not?
You might want to see a doctor then.
On a more serious note, this is one of the main problems with our education system today. As class sizes grow, the ratio of date able teachers to interested students becomes lower and lower, and today we have reached a point where normal people who just want to date their teacher may have a hard time finding one who isn't in a relationship. The government keeps cutting funding for school, with no regard to this and other dire consequences. #Bernie2016 for more teachers to date!
