Can one overcome depression/anxiety etc. on their own and with just medication, no therapy?
The best way to battle your own depression is to focus on nutrition, exercise and meditation.
Nutrition and exercise will offer positive signaling to your brain to produce more positive thought processes and perspectives. These are two great approaches to changing the way your mind and body will think and feel.
Another approach is to focus on shifting your perspective based on the way you live and see your life. Reframing your perspective of how you treat yourself and what you focus on in a day to day setting. Practice self love affirmations and surround yourself with people who exemplify positivity and awareness for your own health and well being.
These are some ways that can help you face your depression head on. I also recommend seeing a therapist of any kind to help to talk through your problems and seek guidance. There are many different types of therapies that can benefit your depression such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychotherapy, Interpersonal therapy or Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR).
