Can running a few days a week be better than running every day?
Yes it can! As long as your not overdoing it, when you do do it, its great! It will give your body time to rest, and will also keep you motivated, and looking forward it. I like to call it teasing myself! One thing I control very well now, is when I do it. If I'm not in the mood to do it, I don't do it! The worse feeling as a runner is running, when your mind is not focused on the running. I keep things that involve it around me, such as running magazines, movies, etc. I even volunteer to keep me in the environment! Seeing others pumped about it, keeps me pumped about it. Of course you have your running buddies excited about running, so when their excited you'll be excited. Running has great benefits to our joints, but what hurts us is when we overdo it! Breaking it down as far as overdoing it meaning running with a backpack, running with ankle weights, running when you aren't in the mood. If you aren't focused, then your form will be off, or that short run will seem like a long run. Sorry if I kind of go everywhere with this, but there are good things to not doing it every day. Keep on trucking! : )
