From where did Captain Marvel come?

The character debuted in the title Marvel Super-Heroes as an officer in the United States Air Force and Security Chief of a restricted military base, where Danvers meets Dr. Walter Lawson(Mar-Vell), the human alias of alien Kree hero Captain Marvel.

In a later story, Danvers is caught in the explosion of a Kree device, after trying to get close to Captain Marvel.

Although Captain Marvel manages to save her life, Danvers sustains serious injuries.

As Thanos eliminated half of the universe's population with a snap of his fingers using the Infinity Stones, Nick Fury saw the situation unfolding on Earth as he witnessed Maria Hill and several civilians fade away into dust. Fury quickly grabbed a pager to send out an emergency alert in response. However, moments later, Fury himself turned to dust as well, dropping the pager which had eventually displayed Danvers' symbol, having successfully sent the message.

On of her famous comic quotes:
