Have you ever discovered you had a child that you never knew about?

No but I have a scenario playing out that I am very interested in seeing how it turns out. As a birthday present my children gave me an Ancestry DNA kit that I completed and then uploaded my DNA information to GEDmatch. This was done in January.

Out of the blue I was contacted by a woman in Detroit who told me that she was adopted and didn't know anything about her birth parents. She had had her DNA done and uploaded. She had already found a half sister she didn't know existed but it turned out that other than her sister I was her closest relative. I am probably her first or second cousin.

That got my mind working. From the way I understand our comparative results she is related to me through my mother's side of the family. My mother came from a large family and she had two brothers who traveled the world, drank heavy and were womanizers. They are both deceased along with my mom and all of the other siblings. My guess is she is the offspring of one of them probably the younger who died about 2 years ago. This lady is 54. If I am right she has two half sisters who are my cousins. I haven't told them this story as yet.

It is going to be interesting to see how this turns out.

I'm guessing this question is only for men???

No, but I have wondered about the possibility. I was very active as a teen and not always as careful as I should have been. I learned my lesson after I made a girl pregnant which sadly ended in abortion. If I have a child out there, I would like to be a part of his/her life.

Why do people always return to those that hurt them?

No. This is not true. If someone has not learnt their lesson, then they will keep going back for more pain.If you're experiencing a situation of Domestic Violence, leave. Don't even go back to the one who has hurt you. You're going to be ok. Just get some help. Get out while you're still alive.
