How to make myself hungry

I had this same problem. I was promised a slow metabolism by my 20's and let's just say not all promises come true.

I realized I needed 2600 calories a day to gain weight.

  1. The most important thing you need is the drive to do it. It has to be a priority, eat as much as you can, as frequently as you can, and you can't miss days or skip out on meals until you hit that number consistently.
  2. Get "Lose It" and put your goal weight in- keep track of what food you eat and soon you'll memorize the calorie intake of common staples. It's actually pretty fun to discover the caloric value of food. Don't hurt yourself, just get as close as you can to that number every day.
  3. Switch up exercise. I used to walk every day just to do something, and not much else. But to gain weight you have to be diligent, lift weights until your body is hungry, and consistently use up energy to create a need for it.

I'm telling you this because I wish someone had told me and I could have started sooner. The most important thing is that persistent drive. Like with most of life's challenges, you have to really want to do it. Otherwise, you simply won't.
