How to train my upper abs without doing sit ups
The easiest way to train your upper abs without sit-ups is to do active dynamic tension breathing exercises.
This is simply blowing the air out of your lungs from your diaphragm (not from your chest).first practice breathing in and out of your chest...the chest will rise and fall. Next, practice breathing in and out of your diaphragm area (upper abs area). You'll know if you're doing it correctly if your abs expand and contract as opposed to your chest rising up and down.
After you've learned and felt the difference, practice blowing all the air out until you few your upper abs contract. From there it's all about learning to contract harder and hold the contraction longer as you get better. Before you know it you will have created a solid mind muscle connection. Then continue to do this movement but in a structured way. For example, 3 sets of 10–15 breathes holding each contraction (air blown out) portion for 3–5 seconds, then 10 seconds, and continue on to improve the number of reps and the duration of the hold.
You'll notice over time your abs start to take shape and strengthen as well.
Hope this helps.
