The short answer, yes. Focus on intensity, focus on your goal and plan when you go in to TRAIN...focus, focus, focus. If you are truly putting in the effort, you will not only see gains (soreness is not necessarily a sign of progress by the way), but you will find that you cannot train for 2 1/2 hours. Check in with yourself and monitor whether or not you are putting in effort or just putting in time. Are you doing the work of your plan (do you have one that makes sense?!?) and not messing around on your phone or chatting with everyone? If you have a goal and a plan, there is little time to socialize during the session. Save it for afterwords.
