How many countries have been divided from British India?

Upon the partition of British India in 1947, the Dominion of India and Dominion of Pakistan was created. 11 provinces (Ajmer-Merwara-Kekri, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Bihar, Bombay, Central Provinces and Berar, Coorg, Delhi, Madras, Panth-Piploda, Orissa, and the United Provinces) joined India, 3 (Baluchistan, North-West Frontier and Sindh) joined Pakistan, and 3 (Punjab, Bengal and Assam) were partitioned between India and Pakistan.

In 1950, after the new Indian Constitution was adopted, the provinces in India were replaced by redrawn states and union territories. Pakistan, however, retained its five provinces, one of which, East Bengal, was renamed East Pakistan in 1956 and became the independent nation of Bangladesh in 1971.

The question is not right, throughout history various empires of India have included many geographical entities which were not culturally homogenous with mainland for example chola empire in South had conquered lands in South East Asia, similarly some empires in North had conquered parts of Central Asia. In fact most of the parts of North East barring Assam were seldomly part of the major Indian empires before British Rule. In fact we can safely assume that Indians have actually colonised the North East states like Nagaland and Manipur.

Well on paper it is only 2(Pakistan and Bangladesh), vice versa question would make sense. The concept of India as a nation it self was very contemporary, there were many autonomous countries  or States such as Carnatic,Hyderabad before 19th century. So technically India didn't split to different countries but it is many States or independent countries joined to form India.

There are eight countries which were separated from India since 1700 to 1971..which are as follows....
1.) Afghanistan

2.) Sri Lanka

3.) Vietnam

4.) Myanmar (Burma)

5.) Bhutan

6.) Nepal

7.) Pakistan

8.) Bangladesh

& now in line.... (Kashmir) (Tibbat) (arunachal Pradesh) :'(
