I'm 11 years old and 5′2″, and I weigh 109 pounds. Am I fat?
Oh, goodness, honey, no. Definitely not.
Okay, here's the thing. And I know you'll hear this a lot - but it's because it's true.
Every ad, actress, model, mannequin that you see is so SO small. They either starve themselves, edit their pictures, or are produced that way (in the case of mannequins). The average (grown) lady in the US is like 170lbs.
When I worked in a clothing store I was disgusted because we had to pin BACK our extra small clothes on the mannequins. Like, damn girl. That is SMALL.
When I was about 16, I weighed 140-ish pounds. Now, at 24, I weight almost 170 lbs. I went to a wedding recently, and everybody was commenting on how thin I had gotten. Uhh.....I gained like 30 pounds, but thanks..??
Weight re-proportions itself. ESPECIALLY as you get older.
Here's two secrets for you that it took me a long time to figure out.
- Look at paintings of, like, the Renaissance or Greek sculptures. Those women were what was beautiful when natural was all there was available. They have rolls and curved and flabby skin - because that's what a body does. You've got a lot of important organs in there that you need to keep protected!
