I powerlift multiple times a week and I'm 14 years old. I can bench 135. I do use smelling salts but recently heard about taking pre-workout. Am I too young to be using it?
Dude, you're 14. Just lift weights, eat lots of food, and take protein powder. You shouldn't need any pre-workout get-me-up. Maybe a cup of coffee on days where you feel demotivated. Build some experience under the bar. It also looks silly to see people use all these newfangled things like smelling salts, Inzer shirts, special powerlifting shoes, squat suits, bands, slingshots, etc. when they aren't putting up even respectable numbers yet. Don't get laughed at man, years from now, youre gonna see the cringe Im talking about when you become more advanced. 135 is very low for age 14. 225–275 is "pretty good" for 14. Also, smelling salts should only be used during PR attempts or competitions, not every workout. You'll burn out your receptors and build a tolerance.
