Is starting a juice bar in a remote area viable?
You can do a broad financial viability test by making a list of all monthly operating expenses, say rent for the shop, payroll if you plan on hiring help, your salary, utilities, raw material, fuel, loan repayment (if you plan on taking any debt for equipments or shop build) etc and then divide that total by average selling price. The resulting number is the number of juices you need to sell to cover all expenses.
You can get more detailed and calculate the breakeven but for that you will have to spread your expenses in to two lists - Fixed (expenses that do not go up or down based on your business volume, example, rent, salaries, insurance etc) & Variable (expenses that go up or down based on your business volume, example, material production supplies, fuel, sales commissions, freight out etc) and also calculate the variable cost on a per juice/ product level. Once you have those numbers calculate the breakeven (number of ) with the formula:
Fixed Cost ÷ (Selling Price - Variable Cost)
