What is a good anime movie or series? From your list of animes you have seen and enjoyed, my recommendations are
- Baccano!: superb, very fast-paced. There is a bit more violence than those in your list though. Also among the best dubbed animes.
- Shakugan no Shana: the theme is very similar to Kaze no Stigma, with a bit of Oh my goddess mixing somewhere :).
- Full Metal Panic: you will sure enjoy the comedy :).
- The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Chobits: two series most similar to Ah my goddess I can think of :D.
- Similar series to Naruto and FMA: Fairy Tail, Flame of Recca, Bleach, Gintama, Shaman King, Busou Renkin, D. Gray-man, etc.
I'd like to recommend One Piece too, but as you prefer dubbed... don't watch the dubbed One Piece at any cost, especially the 4kids dubs. It destroys the otherwise amazing anime.
I will add some movies later, but any particular anime movies you have enjoyed? Otherwise it's kind of difficult for I might recommend those great to me but not to your taste.
Hakuouki: Shinshengumi kitan, Hekketsu-roku, remeiroku are very good anime. but the OVA series does not do justice to the Anime.
Samurai X is unquestionably one of the best. You'll keep wanting to watch the kyoto arc again and again.but the new OVA Kyoto Arc sucks. Trust and betrayal OVA is awesome though.
Death Note is a must watch.
Captain Tsubasa is also a good anime if you forget the unrealistic goal scoring sequences, or episode ending with a guy hanging in the air upside down for taking a bicycle kick!
Ghost In the Shell is superb, and the kind of anime that you can love even if you don't like anime. It's one of the greatest anime movies, and was a major influence on The Matrix.
Spirited Away is a widely acclaimed, amazing anime film (and there's a high quality English-dubbing version available, FYI).
A great series is Samurai X, again the kind of thing that can really appeal to someone who otherwise doesn't like anime much.
Another great one to consider -- Ninja Scroll. My brother in law showed me this one last year, it's pretty awesome.
Death Note and Code Geass are two of the best anime ever. I strongly suggest you watch it. Code Geass might seem a bit slow at the start, but it takes off very soon, but Death Note starts moving along from the first episode itself, so it is bound to keep you hooked.
Cowboy Bebop is one of my favourite anime series of all time. It is quite short actually, only 26 episodes, but each one is terrific. Watch it to believe it.
Coming to recent anime, Attack on Titan is taking the anime world by storm (or so I hear). I could only watch the first 13 episodes, but I found it quite good. Not really one of the best, but compelling to watch.
As far as movies go, please watch Hayao Miyazaki's works, especially Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited Away.
I am not an avid anime watcher but among the ones I have watched, it should be for me,
There are many. I cant choose one. This is a list of some of my favorites
- Spirited away
- Princess Mononoke (In fact, all of Ghibli movies)
- Up (Every Pixar Film except Cars 2)
- Song of the Sea
- Sita Sings the Blues
- Ghost in the Shell
- How to train your Dragon
- Grave of the fireflies
- The Lion King
- Fantastic Planet
- The tripletts of belleville
- Waltz with Bashir
