What is your favorite obscure or forgotten exercise?

I would say that my favorite forgotten exercise is the barbell hack squat. Usually performed with wrist straps because your legs are going to be quite a bit stronger than your grip.

Put a couple of 10 lb plates on the floor to put under your heels. If you have a rack that is at about mid-thigh, use it. I like to load the barbell first at that height and back up to the bar. I then get my grip using the wrist straps. I then step backward a step or two until my heels land on the 10 lb plates.

From that position, simply squat down as close as possible to parallel and then return to the original (standing) position. This movement will "burn" your thighs like no other!

Think of this exercise as a deadlift with the bar held behind your back. I'm sure you can Google "Barbell Hack Squat" and you'll see exactly how to do this exercise.
