The nervous system will cause that type of response. More details would be required to have a better answer as to why. A nerve could have been stretched or damaged. If you have been lifting weights or working out for more than 8 weeks without a break, your body can have this response because the nervous system takes longer to grow than your muscles. I personally, would take a two week break from intense stretching, then start your routine off again easy. Maybe your nerves have stretched too far and they need to catch up with your activities. Otherwise, make sure your eating healthy before you stretch.
